Well, that's it over with for another year! βπΆββοΈ
Four weeks ago, if you'd told me I'd be completing the Longest Day Challenge, I probably would have laughed. Having recently suffered an asthma attack, taking on this challenge felt even more daunting than usual.
But that's the power of the Longest Day Challenge with Walking With The Wounded. It pushes you to do things you wouldn't ordinarily do, all in support of the people who have fought for us, our freedoms and our safety.
The weather certainly wasn't on our side, and there were moments when every step felt that little bit harder, but knowing the difference this charity makes to veterans and their families kept me going.
Raising money for those who have sacrificed so much for our country feels like a very easy choice.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared my posts, displayed a poster, sent messages of encouragement, or simply asked how I was getting on. Your support genuinely meant a great deal and helped carry me through the challenge.
Walking With The Wounded does incredible work supporting veterans and their families through employment, mental health and care coordination programmes, helping people rebuild their lives, regain independence and move forward with confidence.
Despite the rain, the sore feet and the occasional questioning of my own sanity, it was worth every single step.
Thank you again to everyone who supported me along the way. π
